Our love for rare and beautiful objects isn't limited to those of the horological variety! In addition to our perpetual treasure hunt for great watches, we cast a wider net into the world of vintage objects, a practice that, since our founding, has yielded a trove of finds we happily share during the holiday season each year.
From vintage clocks to pocket knives, lighters to diving instrumentation, old-world ashtrays to desk sculptures — these are the types of mementos that heavily tug on our nostalgic heart strings and further sate our impulse for preservation and storytelling.
Unfortunately we can't keep them all...
This particular piece is a Zippo money clip commissioned for NASA. Its 2” x 1” stainless steel body features the classic NASA 'worm' logo followed by ‘Hugh L Dryden Flight Research Center’ on the front side and a sturdy metal clip on the back. Looking closely, you'll see that this money clip also houses two mini knife blades that nestle right into the clip body.
It’s not surprising that an object that bears the NASA name is both compact and multi-functional!
